Forgotten Ecology – A Meditation and Mindfulness Journey (8 week course)
Does meditation seem impossible? Does the idea of sitting still, void of thought seem impossible? You might be surprised to learn that meditation isn’t just sitting cross-legged in silence. Have you ever walked in the woods or river valley and just lost yourself in the beauty around you? Or watched the water flowing in a river? Then you already have meditated. This is a natural action, a natural way for us to be. Stepping away from our busy lives in the urban landscape back to the natural environment we all seem to forget.
During this 8-week series we will explore several forms of meditation while using nature and the guidance it can provide. We will focus on the ecology of humans with their natural world, using the lessons of the ever changing seasons to guide us through various techniques and styles. You will be the scientist of your own life, creating experiments that help guide you to the best methodology of meditation for yourself.
We will reclaim our forgotten ecology.
Each class will be a blend of a lesson, mindfulness activity and a meditation to integrate it all. All that is required is a cushion to sit on and a pen and paper/journal to write down your reflections.
A bit about Jennifer Semeniuk of BAO Massage:
For the last 19 years Jennifer has dedicated herself to the study of anatomy through her practice of massage therapy and holistic manual therapies. Only through a personal health struggle did she truly understand that true health comes from integrated approach of both the mind and body. She furthered her own practice of meditation and sought out a better way of creating harmony for herself. Only realizing the answers where always right in front of her through the whispers in the leaves and the dirt under her fingernails.
