Affordable Therapy & Low Cost Counselling

Society used to look at mental health issues as something to be ashamed of, but we don’t have to any more. Mental health, like physical health, is something that absolutely everyone must work at to feel good. It’s rewarding work, but it isn’t always easy or affordable.

The counsellors at Welling Centre aim to build trusting, safe, relationships with you, where they can understand your situation from your perspective, and help you to discover the hidden resources that would allow you to find your source of wellness once again.

Ken Creegan, BACAP, MC, RTC

Registered Therapeutic Counsellor, Psychotherapist

Ken is an intuitive, empathic, and compassionate therapist who is committed to helping people understand themselves and create positive and meaningful change in their lives.

Ken draws heavily from “depth therapy” and is influenced by Jungian, psychoanalytic, and Gestalt perspectives while also holding a humanistic lens, which states that at their core people are ultimately good. In addition, Ken has training in sensorimotor psychotherapy, as well as EMDR, and has also trained to work with couples, having completed Level 2 of the Gottman approach. Recently, there has been a revival of interest in psychedelics. Ken works with Psychedelic Integration from a harm-reduction approach.

Ken believes that with each person there is a desire to become more whole and that therapy provides a space to go to the root of the issue or repeating pattern, which sometimes isn’t always obvious or apparent.

Having emigrated from Ireland, Ken has over 10 years of working in the mental health field as a psychodynamic psychotherapist.

When not at the office, Ken enjoys spending time with his family, playing good music, and enjoying the mountains.

Each professionally supervised 50-minute session with Ken is available for a $160 fee and is eligible for extended health benefits through some insurance companies. He is currently offering in-person, video, and phone sessions. Need a bit more time – Ken also offers 80-minute sessions for $240, ideal for couples counselling. Some sliding scale rates are available – ask Ken for more details.
